I rocked the 2-mile run

So I completed the 2-mile run yesterday. I was hoping to make it in under 25 minutes. I came up with 25 because my 2-mile split during the 5k race a couple weeks ago was 26 minutes and change. Not only did I make it in under 25 minutes but I completed it in under 22 minutes. I haven't seen my official time yet. Hopefully it will be online soon. As soon as it is I'll post the time.
I felt that I pushed myself pretty hard because I was gutted at the end of the race and picked up the pace going up the last hill.
I rewarded myself with a new pair of running shoes designated solely for that and nothing else. I've been wearing a couple different pairs that got me by but I needed something just for running.
I purchased a pair of Asics GT-2150 from Manhattan Running Co. Being properly fitted for a shoe will make me feel even better. Can't wait to try them out but the 37 degree low in the morning isn't very appealing.

  1. Way to go, Shawn!!
Thanks for creating this blog. I will use it to inspire me in my own fitness/weight loss journey. Keep up the good work!

  2. I am really impressed with your hard work--you have inspired me to stop consuming sugar starting today. (Been thinking of quitting for a couple weeks now and one of my son's friends is on a health food kick too and has already lost 50lbs.) It's great to post your information online and keep tabs that way.
